For well over a year now there have been discussions about updating our game launcher, and bringing official MacOS and Linux support to CWAEMU.

We're excited to share that we will be releasing a mandatory update to our launcher very soon!

Accompanying Client and Server Changes.

Alongside the upcoming launcher update, there will be significant changes to our server infrastructure. We'll be giving you more information on this shortly after the release of the updates, but here's a few immediate improvements players might be interested in right now:

Persistent Holoprojectors, Mind Tricks, and Mounts. (These items no longer unequip between rooms)
Improved Player Tracking. (Player location is far more precise)

Client-side changes have been made to accompany this new server infrastructure.

How Will This Affect Alpha Access?

We've been firm on our stance that we have enough alpha testers. However, we've long promised that we would fulfill the list of people who registered initially. These players are our first priority and, barring any significant issues with the new launcher, will all be granted access soon after the updates are released. This applies to those who signed up for MacOS or Linux as well. Current Alpha Testers will also have access to the MacOS and Linux versions of the game and are encouraged to play with them as well.

Regarding events, another reason why we have not been hosting them is because of significant issues with the launcher. In the past, some users have not been able to install the game no matter what. We believe that all - or most - of these issues have been resolved. So there may be a few opportunities coming up, but don't expect anything easy. We're still more than pleased with the amount of alpha testers we have, and we'll only be hosting events that award game access if we believe that they are going to be challenging or bring out creativity from our fans!
